Reviving a retailer and a flagship store

Sokos is a chain of Finnish department stores that was in need of transformation. The flagship store in Helsinki is sited in a protected landmark building and this was entirely re-modeled over a 2 year period. From the exterior with bold signage that floats off the facade to the covered atrium
a new retail experience has been created.

Each of the 6 floors was re-planned and themed by colour and every department designed to reflect the new brand proposition which was to focus on fashion and lifestyle.

Alongside the new fixtures and fittings, the interior has been carefully restored with
some new design features that echo the
1950’s origins of the store.
